Well, I apologize...I really do. More than anything I wish I had pictures to share with you. This day started out beautifully
....waking up before the crack of dawn (like before the roosters) and getting on a boat to travel to the last island of Bartolome! On the boat, I spent at least 30 minutes watching the dolphins jump around near the boat. They are absolutely gorgeous. It was like I was watching Flipper on Nickolodean!
Arriving to the island was absolutely amazing. There isn't much life on land besides a few pioneer plants, but the water was a different story. This is where you have the sea turtle breeding ground.....AND SHARKS! Now I didn't get too close to sharks....except one!
Who would have thought that I would see a shark and swim over stingrays and swim with penguins, sea lions, and sea turtles. I had the best time snorkeling. It was an opportunity to see what really goes on underwater. It was absolutely amazing.
I was so happy, I got to the top of the boat (Hoping Stingrays wouldn't jump up or I wouldn't fall in and become a Shark Snack) and shouted "I'm the Queen of the World." That got me lots of attention...but for the most part the people on the boat didn't want any reminders of the Titanic....I guess I can understand why.
Here's the thing...I didn't bring my camera on this expedition, because it was totally in water, so I invested in a water proof camera. I am still waiting for those pictures. I hope they turn out clear...but even if you can't see it...the experience can't be beat!
I had the time of my life and even made some friends along the way. I will nevevr forget the Galapagos!
